NVQ in Health (General Healthcare)

Levels 2 and 3

Our fully funded NVQ programme supports HCA's to gain nationally recognised qualifications that are recommended by both the RCN and WIPP initiative. If you are a Health Care Assistant the Health NVQ is perfect for you as it fits naturally to your job role.

CER Training offers exceptional off the job training which is specific to the individual's role and practice needs. We also support the nurse mentor and practice by confirming competency which is important for accountability and delegation.

In brief, we support each HCA and Practice in the following ways:

  • Level 2 and 3 NVQs (as recommended for the HCA role)
  • Regular visits to your practice to carry out assessments at times to suit you
  • Assessment signposting to the NHS Knowledge and Skills framework for practices using KSF post outlines
  • A copy of CER Training's CPD Portfolio, accompanied by training on evidence collection, reflective practice, recording mentoring meetings and recording learning into practice
  • A full range (up to 70 hours) of off the job training to choose from which allows you to build a bespoke learning and development programme that is specific to the HCA role and practice needs. This training may include; giving influenza vaccinations, blood taking, ECG recording, spirometry, smoking cessation, BMI's and health promotion
  • Use of our HCA forum
  • Networking events
  • A full range of resources that supports both the practice and the HCA
  • Clear progression routes following level 3 qualification with excellent advice and guidance
  • Extremely flexible trainers and assessors who understand your industry and work with you to overcome any problems or barriers to progression and achievement

Our HCA programme is tailor-made to support practices and individuals in meeting their personal and professional goals.
